Application Process

Our goal at Panama Service Project is to appeal to more than just our students. We're now opening our doors to adults of all ages, students, and their teachers. Choose the category you best fit in and click on the link registration button below or review our handbook for more information about our program. Before moving forward, make sure to download the following document which helps guide you through the application/registration process: Panama Service Project Information Sheet.

Students
To start the process, a $125 application fee is required at the time of electronic registration. Once you complete the registration form on line (button below), we will process and review your registration.

Orientations
You will be sent an acceptance letter and invitation to attend an orientation session with others who will also soon be Panama Service Project participants. This informational session will take place in the Fall of the year prior to your trip. Prior to the meeting we ask you review the "Students How To" guide so you're better prepared for the meeting (download here). At this meeting we will show DVD about the program, discuss program expectations and give students and parents an opportunity to ask questions about our program. You will also need to bring a completed application (download here), letter of recommendation from a teacher (download here), letter of recommendation from an administrator (download here), and a 50% down payment.

Please feel free to come to the orientation first, and then make up your mind to join in on this amazing experience!

There will also be a required cultural orientation meeting, approximately 45 days before departure.

Teachers
The Panama Service Project is mainly composed of high school groups led by a Spanish teacher who takes a select group of 5-8 Spanish students (level 3 or higher recommended) interested in a service learning experience. If you are a teacher interested in taking a group of students, please contact Jeanne Kasza at Jeanne.kasza@sbcglobal.net or 262-268-7001 to request the Participation Handbook or click on the link on this page to familiarize yourself with the program. Included in the handbook are our trip policies, the application and other necessary forms with a checklist. Interview guidelines for selecting students can be found following the link on this page. Each teacher is responsible for choosing the participants from his/her school by conducting interviews or a similar selection process. Once the participants have been selected, each student must fill out the electronic registration form at the link below.

Adults
To start the process, simply register online at the button below. A$25 application fee is required at the time of application. A representative of the program will be in contact to assist you with your application and to be your group leader and liason. He or she can also speak with you about fund-raising activities.

At this meeting, we will discuss the itinerary and take questions about all aspects of the trip. You will also need to bring a completed application (download here) and a 50% down payment.
